Cryptocurrency Interface Usability

Project Overview

The Challenge

Rubicon finance wants to make crypto trading available to and enjoyable for all traders.

However, they need to strike the balance between a robust platform to support experienced traders and an easy-to-navigate interface for novice users. To pressure test the current interface, we were tasked with:

  1. Understanding if users are able to navigate the current layout of the "Token Menu"

  2. Determining if users are able to find pertinent information to make a trade

My Role

I led the strategic planning of our approach, thorough testing by the team, and the creation of data-driven insights to inform decision-making. With that my main tasks included:

  1. Define research goals and objective

  2. Recruit participants and conduct user testing

  3. Analyze and interpret data

  4. Develop recommendations for improvement based on the findings

  5. Communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders.

Research Process

My team and I embarked by engaging with key players such as Rubicon Leadership, the UX/UI Lead, and engineers. Our objective was to comprehend the product roadmap, identify pain points, and set goals. Rubicon shared their perspectives on the users' experiences based on collected feedback, which we needed to validate to guide the product roadmap. We prioritized features to test and kept our stakeholders informed. The research team then fine-tuned objectives and framing research questions. It became evident that remote usability tests were the best approach to collecting data efficiently and meaningfully. We sought and secured buy-in from our stakeholders before proceeding with data collection. Our findings were then analyzed and synthesized to deliver a presentation that highlighted the key takeaways and recommendations for the development team.
